TNPresenters FY23 Scholarship Fund

The TNPresenters Scholarship Fund supports the mission to provide communications, education, & networking opportunities for presenters through access to attend regional professional booking conferences, visit member venues to network and learn from one another, evaluate collaborative routing opportunities, and support in-person participation in the annual membership meeting with TNPresenters (TNP) artists, agents, and presenters. By facilitating new professional relationships, the TNP Scholarship hopes to cultivate an environment in which the performing arts contribute and grow the quality of life and creative economy in our communities.    


Details of the Scholarship

These funds are made available through the generous support of South Arts. 

Applicable events are:

• Regional or National Arts/Live Events Conference sponsorship - Covers registration costs up to $1,000.00 for regional or national conference.

• Member Venue Travel Scholarship travel & lodging - Covers costs up to $500 to visit TNPresenter Member Venue for event and/or networking.

• TNPresenters Annual In-Person Meeting -Covers costs up to $300 for travel & lodging to attend the TNPresenters Annual Membership Meeting (one day event, usually hosted in TN or KY)

Funds are available to support more than one scholarship and will be issued based on Board review, on a first come, first serve basis until funding is depleted.    

Eligibility

  • Staff member of a presenting organization that is a current TNPresenters member in good standing.

    • Presenting organizations must have not-for-profit, tax-exempt status or be an official unit of local, county or state government.

    • For the purposes of these scholarships, presenters are defined as organizations that present or host artists for engagements in their communities.

    • Organization that has had a conference or travel budget cut.

    • Presenting organization presents at least three (3) public events per season.

Guidelines

  • Preference will be given to first time attendees but is not restricted by such.

  • Applicant may receive only one of these scholarships per fiscal year

  • Applicant may not receive this scholarship more than 2 years in a row

  • Applicant must apply and be approved for this scholarship before attending the booking conference; exceptions will be made in the July 2022- June 2023 season due to unforeseen delay in funding approval.

  • Payment will be given in the form of reimbursement after applicant has provided receipts for approved expenses.

  • Applicant must plan on attending the entire conference/meeting.

  • After attending, applicant must provide a report to the TNP Board offering information on the benefits received from this funding and booking opportunities inclusive of routing, costs, and collaboration opportunities (if applicable).

  • TNP Board of Directors will have final approval on which conferences are applicable and member venue visits must involve a current TNP member venue.

  • Delay in reporting, providing applicable receipts, or membership dues could result in denial of application.

  • Applicants are limited to one application per presenting organization.

  • Applicants agrees to send thank you/acknowledgement to South Arts for providing the funding.
